Give Back is crowdspring's way of helping worthy non-profit and charitable causes around the world when those organizations need design help but cannot afford it. For these special projects, no monetary awards will be given and crowdspring will waive all fees. Crowdspring will help each organization post their project. Together, we will collaborate to help those who are less fortunate.

Give Back projects will work just like standard projects, including contracts, wrap-up, notifications, etc.

We will find ways to recognize winning designers in Give Back projects.

We'll also ask the winning designers in Give Back projects to propose other worthy non-profits and charities that can benefit from this program. We hope that in this small way, crowdspring and our community can help non-profits and charities around the world.

Describe the target audience for your logo

Kids In Danger is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting children by improving children's product safety. We want our logo to promote our brand to parents and caregivers, regulators and policymakers and the media.

What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

KID was founded in 1998 by two University of Chicago professors whose son Danny was killed in an unsafe portable crib. Most parents are unaware of recalled products they might be using or other hazards in the products they buy to keep their children safe cribs, strollers, high chairs, etc.

We deal with a scary subject dangerous cribs and other childrens products. Our current name and logo reflect that reality we felt it helped get parents to pay attention and take action.

But over the years we have addressed many of the concerns. More parents are aware of recalls; new laws and standards are in place to make products safer and we have a federal agency, CPSC, that takes its role to protect children seriously. So the three things we now want to communicate:

1. the nature of our work -- safer products, safer children

2. we are looking to soften our image a little. Maybe use our acronym, KID, more than Kids In Danger and perhaps lose that open safety pin on our logo!

3. our board recently choose five words to describe KID -- the logo should convey some of these descritive terms and not seem juxtaposed to any: Passionate, Credible, Advocate, Effective and Proactive.

Style and Concept

What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?

Pretty open -- should be simple however. Current logo (kidsindanger.org) has a safety pin and text. Draft 'softer' logo just has text.

What colors do you want to see in your logo?

We want to stick with our current logo colors -- yellow, black and white. We will need a black and white version that copies easily for some printed materials, such as letterhead.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?

Looking for a yellow/black and white logo only.

Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?

Everywhere (we hope): web, social media, video, print materials.
