Target Audience

What is your industry?

Hair and beauty. We sell professional salon quality hair and beauty products - online only. Our site has been online for 3 months nowwe have the framework, now we need the branding starting with a logo and complimentary elements.

Describe the target audience for your logo

Women 18-45, read fashion mags, willing to seek out and spend money on latest hair & beauty products

Our products are somewhat niche as they are mainly hair salon and professional ranges. So our shopper is savvy with beauty trends and wants products with an edge over run of the mill beauty counter fare. The brands we sell are very well known and leaders within the hair industry.

What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

Gorgeous and glamorous, without being gaudy or overly girlie.
Confidence
Elegance

Style and Concept

What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?

We are presently using this logo, which we like for the elegance of the font, but were looking for a brand identity that speaks to the beauty industry and beauty shoppers. The font should have some charm and doesnt necessarily have to be sans-serif going forward.

It would be nice to have a graphical element in the logo, whether a shape or emphasized letter. Something that we can take throughout the website. Similar to the way that Wallpaper magazine uses their asterisk throughout the site: http://www.wallpaper.com/interiors or the plus element in http://www.lukecopping.com/ . Doesnt have to be a plus or asteriskcould be anything!

And it would be good to be able to use the font in the logo as a headline font on the site so it ties in to images we create as we add content and blog pages.

What colors do you want to see in your logo?

Lets go beyond black and whitea feminine muted palette would be great.

What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?

Really bright colours. Pink is not off-limits but no girlie clich hot pink fuchsias and baby pinks.

Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?

Mostly online: web, email newsletters, banner ads but perhaps some print promo as well.

Do you have other info or links you want to share?

Heres our current site: we have the framework, need the logo and cohesive colours!

Take a look at the products but please don't take any cues from the graphics currently there.

Thanks for looking, feel free to have a play. We have a clean slate to work with.
