Who are you?
Our company's name is Slanted Owl-- We are a small market research and consulting company that helps companies make smarter decisions, faster and cheaper, by revolutionizing the way they do and think about quantitative and qualitative research with consumers. As an example, we use a lot of new technologies like online video, text mining and social networking to conduct our market research instead of traditional focus groups, in person interviews or surveys.
While the company founders have backgrounds in market research, the traditional and expected personalities, like data geeks, professorial types, reserved and quite demeanors, and a conservative mindset should be thrown out the window. Ideas that describe us and our approach to the market research world are: Quirky, Super Smart, Forward Thinking, Inspiring, Impactful and Fun. The creative should embody this. And, this is a women owned company... we would love to embrace this as part of our identity.
What do you need?
We need a logo that immediately conveys our mix of expertise, ability to inspire, forward thinking-ness and fun in the market research space. We would like to have a color logo that also looks good in B&W. This logo will be used for all company communications including website, business card, ppt, e-mail, ect. The logo should be able to stand with and without the tagline. Our tag line is Smart Insights. Smart Decisions. Smart Business.
Who Is Your Audience?
Our clients are a mixture of start-ups, beauty companies and large Fortune 500 companies (think Pantene, Starbucks, Pepsi, Nokia, etc.). This is a professional audience that will be making decisions about whether or not to use our market research services.

We Absolutely Must Have
The design should be quirky and reflect a sense of fun but should not be confused with childish, young or silly. We are smart women and professionals and we want that to come through.
Be easily remembered (meaning it cant be too complex, busy or intricate).
Slanted Owl must have a logo that is at home next to the worlds best brands.
