What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
Do you have any other info or links you want to share?
I wish I could go higher, really, but every $2.50 spent here is a family unprotected.
Let's make this clear. A mere 2% of the World Bank's annual grants, much of which is wasted, could stop malaria and lymphatic filariasis cold, saving over 1 million lives per year.
Net Growth is a group dedicated to helping to minimize the suffering cause by malaria and lymphatic filariasis. Both are transmitted by mosquito bites that can be easily prevented by a cheap bednet.
Why the name?
-The founders come from Chicago's business community.
-Reducing illness is the best way to help countries escape poverty, much better than grants which can be siphoned off.
-Malaria is especially dangerous of pregnant women and the young, and netting can help the young grow older.
The math is simple. Given the five year life of a Duranet (http://duranetmosquitonet.com/), it only costs about $1 per year to protect someone from these diseases. For the cost of a pint of beer, a family can be protected for a year.
Over the course of the year, we will be raising money to blanket hot zones in Africa, village by village. We are currently working with partners in Tanzania and Kenya.
What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
Our ties to Africa.
What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)
I like the African acacia tree (http://www.coloradocarpet.net/Acacia%20T...). It takes root in arid environments and grows, becoming shelter. Likewise, stopping malaria allows a family or village to grow and prosper in what had been an economically arid environment.
Potentially work in the colors of the Pan-African flag: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_o...
Something tying in nets or a net pattern would be nice.
