LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
I am building an online community to bring together gadget gurus and frustrated folks who are just trying to get the stuff to do what the ads promise to share their knowledge and get help.
I ask users to list their gadgets and their interests and a few simple questions on ratings. I also ask users to identify combinations of two (or more gadgets) that they use to support their interests.
Key gadget information/specifications for every gadget are populated by users or researchers.
The users are invited to explore what others use for similar interests. Configuration tips, and hacks, and more general forums.
Gadgets include but are not limited to consumer electronics, websites, kitchen and household equipment and beyond.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
A main logo for the website.
Slogans and strap-lines
Effective/unique icons for ratings for:
- the way that gadgets support interests (e.g. useless, okay, wouldn't leave home without it)
- and the way combinations work together (e.g. iphone and itunes = made for eachother, windows pc and itunes (tricky bedfellows).
I don't know what the alt-text would be but these kinds of 3 to 5 level ratings...
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Gadget gurus who buy new stuff just cos its new
Frustrated everyday folks who just wish someone would give them useful info on how to get the specific things they have, from two different vendors to work best together.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
iphone ui, clean and simple sites, intuitive design
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
maybe the concept of two or more gadgets being used together in non-obvious ways to make something that is greater than the sum of its parts
