My Strong is Beautiful
What do you do?
I have written a book and designed a website called "My Strong is Beautiful". It is geared toward young females. I want to empower young girls to be proud of their strong, athletic, messy selves. A lot of children's literature features girls in dresses and focuses their attention to princesses and fairies. I am hoping to provide a number of resources and photographs to show girls that they can ALSO be strong and athletic and wear sweatpants with their hair up and/or baseball hats, etc.
Do you have specific size requirements for the logo?
I would like an icon for use on the website. I would use the same design on activity sheets that I am making such as crossword puzzles, word searches, coloring pages, etc. I would also perhaps use the icon to make stickers or key chains, to put on tshirts, baseball hats, etc. for young kids to use or have. The icon could just be an image.... or it could be an image with the text "My Strong is Beautiful". I'm hoping the designer can help with what they think would look best and be catchy and timeless.
What is the exact name in your logo?
My Strong is Beautiful
What is your industry?
Education and Universities
Describe the target audience for your logo design
Young girls from the point they start walking and up. Particular emphasis on the elementary aged girls for now, but I plan to have photographs and activities of the youngest through high school and beyond over time showing them being active and showing their athleticism and strength!
Beyond age, I also want it to be inclusive - something that can be embraced by young girls from a broad range of cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your logo design?
1. PRIDE in being a girl and being who they are
2. I am hoping to break gender norms a bit (and give young girls the courage and confidence to be who they are sometimes told they can't be - strong/athletic/etc.)
3. Courage, confidence, bravery, etc.
Style and Concept
What icon or button design styles do you like?
I dont have any that relate to the project I am doing. I think that is what is exciting because there isn't anything else out there with this yet!
In general, I like this one from my friends website: http://www.aaronspresents.org
I don't like this one that much: http://www.girlsontherun.org
What colors do you want to see in your logo design?
i am flexible to see what the designers think
What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo design?
I'm trying to avoid glittery/sparkly/fancy/princessy things
What adjectives should best describe your logo design?
bold, powerful, courageous, unique, timeless, fun
Do you want your logo to be Image only, Text only, or Image + Text?
I would like to see both an image logo and an image logo that includes the text "My Strong is Beautiful". I am undecided right now which direction I want to go.
Do you have additional requirements or links you'd like to share?
Not at this point.
