The MacWarrior logo was updated in July 2010. The latest version of MacWarrior represents university spirit, fierceness in competition, and strength.
In order to expand upon the identity of the MacWarrior, a child-friendly version of the MacWarrior is needed for Macquarie University Swim School and Macquarie University Gymnastics Club. To clarify, one child-friendly version will be created for use by both the Gymnastics Club and Swim School.
This version will be known as the Mini MacWarrior.
Consider the following mascots/child-friendly versions at US universities:
Big Jay and Baby Jay at the University of Kansas
The Wildcat and Scratch at the University of Kentucky
Hooter and Baby Owl at Temple University
It should be noted that, regarding these three universities, the child-friendly versions of the mascot are generally witnessed as a costumed character at sporting events and are not generally represented as branded mascots on clothing or marketing collateral.
The current MacWarrior mascot includes face paint and a sword. The sword should not be present in the child-friendly version.
