WHAT IS THE ASSIGNMENT:
The assignment is to make a logo for a company that produces ready-made low carb dinners. The product will be sold in grocery stores in Norway (in Scandinavia). The most important use of the logo is on the food packaging.
ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
The product is low carb (also called LCHF) ready-made dinners. We will make food based on the sous vide method that the consumer warms the food back up in a microwave after purchase. Low carb is an upcoming trend in Norway, more and more people tend to eat fewer carbohydrates to lose weight or just to get healthier. However low carb is a relative controversial subject and there are disputes whether low carb is the most efficient and healthiest way to lose weight. We therefore consider our costumers as brave pioneers that believe in new science and are courageous enough to choose differently. Read more about low carb here:
ABOUT THE NAME:
The company name is Matboksen and means food box in Norwegian. It is a part of Norwagian culture/tradition to bring your own prepared food for lunch in a food box. When we are young we bring with us our own food box to school every day to eat at lunch. And when we are older we bring a food box with us on trips and to some times to work. Our idea is that they now can buy a ready-made food box with low carb food. You can find a picture of a traditional Norwegian food box in the appendix, named food box.
PEOPLE THE BRAND IS AIMING FORE:
Our core consumer base is estimated to be 70% women and in the age span of 20 to 35 years old. They have a modern lifestyle and often live in urban areas. They value creativity, individuality, diversity and self-reliance. They are conches about what they are eating and often well informed about nutrition needs.
EXPLANATION FOR THE ATTACHMENTS:
In the attachment we have pictures of indirect competitors and substitutes. We also have a picture off the box the logo is going to be placed on, and a traditional Norwegian food box.
What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
Our costumers have courage to change and to choose differently. The category (low carb food) has a high density of opinion leaders that are not afraid to advocate the benefits of their diet, despite the believes from the more conservative leaders in nutrition thinking. We would like to communicate through our brand that we are not afraid to be different, we are not afraid to be pioneers.
Our costumers are modern in the way they live, and the way they think. They have an admiration for creative thinking and ideas. Our brand should reflect their way of thinking and their admiration for creative thinking.
Our brand and value proposition is all about eating what is healthy for you. We are going to deliver healthy food that does not compromise on cost, time to prepare and taste.
