LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are currently an invite-only online community for academic scholars in mass communication, including faculty/professors and graduate students. Our goal is to create a collaborative space for researchers in the field of mass communication. But first, we need a great logo.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
A logo that helps brand Mass Comm Scholar as an academic community, but with a contemporary Web2.0 "feel." Not a Web2.0 logo necessarily, but a logo that is scholarly, yet appropriate for an online community space. Media and communication elements are appropriate, such as tv, radio, internet, news, broadcast, people, mobile communication, and so on. Simple, yet fun. Academic, yet contemporary. Logo will be integrated into the header of our site. The attached file is a screen shot of the Ning.com template we are temporarily using for our site, which will be changed once we have a logo in place. The content elements will remain the same, but the overall colors, css, and layout will be completely over hauled once we have a logo to build the design off of. Please don't use current design elements of the site as it is only a template. The screen shot should give you a rough idea of the purpose of our site.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Our target audiences are both faculty/professors and graduate students (mid 20s to 30s) who do research in the field of mass communication, which includes those who study the media, journalism, interpersonal communication, the internet, television, and so on. The youthful appeal to graduate students is a primary focus, as faculty/professors will follow. Graduate students are the driving force behind our site.

I'm sure there are others. Use your best judgment. This is our first project using CrowdSpring. Show us how much this site rocks! We have faith in you!
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We do not want just another knock-off Web2.0 logo. Clean, academic, scholarly, but fun and contemporary are a must. We are targeting graduate students and younger faculty/professors.
