LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We're building a website where small business can search for a targeted set of people across the US, design a postcard, and have it printed and mailed automatically. Traditionally, this involves multiple steps and fairly high minimum orders, or big prices. We're going to do this at a better price through better automation. This is going to be targeted at small, local businesses who want to get the word out to people down the block, but will also be useful for businesses selling to a narrow range of people across a region or the country. The selection criteria can be very specific, which will help sell to exactly the group you want to target.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

The latest domain choice and company name is pinpointpost.com. Second choice is brightsell.com. Third is listopost.com (we're leaning towards the spanish speaking community). Most likely the first, but if something grabs me right, the others are options. The website is going to be a modern, dynamic type of site and will have a clean, clear look (like this site). Most marketing sites are pretty crowded and try to overdo the "wow" factor. Blah. The logo should reflect that type of look. The search interface will involve clicking on a map to help select sales campaigns, and postcards (obviously), so including some of those components are an option.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Small businesses. Local dentist, restaurant, bar, plumber, etc. Possibly businesses or websites that have a wider geographical focus, but a very narrow style of customer. Probably newer businesses that are looking for something different than what they're used to doing (less tradition, more "web 2.0" ish). Basically, not big or old.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

This site. Wine library tv. meebo. indeed.com grokker.com openid songbird (old logo http://www.tuxwatch.com/wp-content/uploa... I guess it should be a little more business-y, but I don't want over-the-top sales type of site. Mix songbird and salesforce.com.

Again, just logo for now, but once we get the basic look of that, we'll be posting a website design request, so its hard to completely separate the two.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

If it would look at home on this site, alitho.com, its out.
