Tell us what you need

What is the exact name you would like in your logo?

Magnum Motorsports

What is your industry?

Entertainment and Sports

What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

1)Professionalism / Experience: We have over 50 combined years of racing experience and we want our brand to convey the expertise and knowledge we've accumulated over the years.
2)Class: Road racing is an elegant sport. We pride ourselves on bringing our best to the track each time out and on our reputation throughout the paddock as sporting competitors.
3)Hard-nosed grit: We're a father & son privateer racing team competing against full-scale outfits that have more resources. No weekend at the track is easy for us; we're always an underdog.

What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)

Needs to have the text "Magnum Motorsports". Beyond that, I'm open to your ideas.

Do you have any other info or links you want to share?

As mentioned above, my father and I run a privateer open-wheel road racing team in the F2000 Championship Series in the U.S. ( http://f2000championshipseries.com/ ).

The cars are formula-style race cars (images attached for reference) and we would likely use the logo on the car and on team clothing.

Our race team's name is inspired by the .44 Magnum called "the most powerful handgun in the world" by Dirty Harry Callahan in 1971 - ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066999/quot... ). Gun themes may be interesting but are not required.

We want a brand that conveys all of the above as well as speed and has a modern look.

Here are some examples that I like:

The logo will be mostly used in two colors (black & white). I would like to have a package of two "alternate" versions each with the subtle addition of one or two other colors. The alternate versions should have the colors of 1) Temple University (cherry & white: http://temple.edu/ ) and 2) The University of Florida (orange & blue: http://www.ufl.edu/ ).
