Business Info

Business Name

Line Star Lineup

What do you do?

This will be a logo for a new podcast, featuring mystery authors from the great state of Texas. Some famous people are going to be on the show, so it's got to be great.

What is the exact name you would like in your logo?

Lone Star Lineup

Target Audience

What is your industry?

Publishing

Describe the target audience for your logo

Listeners to the podcast will be readers of mystery fiction and true-crime stories in Texas. These are educated and literate people from a variety of backgrounds, but not stodgy. They like reading about murder, kidnapping and other mystery stories from Sherlock Holmes to John Le Carre or Ian Rankin. They shop at places like www.murderbooks.com and read magazines like www.themysteryplace.com.

What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

1. The Lone Star Lineup features Texas' hottest mystery authors.
2. It's all about mystery and crime fiction
3. It's called the Lone Star Lineup, so think mug shots and a line up of suspects for a crime.

Style and Concept

What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?

Use your judgement. But these are people who write about murder. In Texas. So a text-only logo might be a waste. Experiment. Think murder, readers and Texas.

What colors do you want to see in your logo?

I don't want to limit anyone, but blood might be nice. But maybe not. Colors should be up to the designer, though the Texas flag could be an obvious design element. Maybe not, though. Just come up with something cool. And maybe a little dark (emotionally)

What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?

No restrictions, but pastels and such might be too lighthearted. If Edgar Allan Poe had a logo, it probably wouldn't have been mustard or magenta.

Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?

On a podcast website, as well as all of the merchandise for the website (hats, shirts, etc). Also business cards and letterhead. So no design that isn't scalable.

Do you have other info or links you want to share?

Try to work the idea of a mugshot or criminal lineup into the logo if you can. Maybe that's possible, maybe not. Listeners to the podcast like these sites:

www.murderbooks.com
www.themysteryplace.com
www.thuglit.com
crimespace.ning.com
www.deadlypleasures.com

BUT, they're from Texas. So crime with a Texas flavor will get you there.
