Business Info

Business Name

bugrocket

What do you do?

bugrocket is a pre-launch SaaS bug tracker for very small teams of (primarily) developers.

What is the exact name you would like in your logo?

bugrocket

Target Audience

What is your industry?

software development

Describe the target audience for your logo

Developers, probably primarily web developers. That means mostly males, 20-40 or so would be a good target. Location is all over but very densely packed in areas like San Francisco and the Bay Area, NYC, Toronto, etc. Education varies from 'none' to 'lots', not really relevant.

What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

Being focused on very small teams I need to seem like a small team too (pretty easy because I am just one person), somewhat informal yet confident.

Style and Concept

What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?

I like text logos with the/a graphic component built in (google found me this: http://logofaves.com/2010/03/human/) or attached somehow (like FeedBurner).

What colors do you want to see in your logo?

Color scheme for the site is currently based around green and beige (variations on #97B649 and #F9F9E4). However, the background of the site is #222 and the logo will be over that color for the most part. Basically in short I'm expecting a mostly white logo so that I can have it on the dark background and also have a reversed one (#222ish on white) for other purposes (on paper, etc).

What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?

Not totally against anything (I'll even re-jigger the site scheme if necessary). I'm somewhat attached to the green motif since I feel like it gives the right vibe to the site.

Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?

Top-left and top-center (in various situations) on the website. It appears attached to the navigation of the site (see screenshots) and also at the top of emails, on a business card, on the blog, etc. One thing that might be tough is that I also need a squarish/icon-like shape I can use for a twitter account and the like... Not sure how that's going to work out.

Do you have other info or links you want to share?

I'd like to somehow incorporate a 'rocket' into it somehow. Maybe somehow the logo has a rocket 'blasting off' (http://tothewire.files.wordpress.com/200..., http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3030/2901... it... Maybe just off the top, maybe more integrated...

Doesn't necessarily have to also incorporate 'bugs', but if you can think of something feel free to give it a try.

The logo should preferably be simple enough to sketch out (vectory-goodness) as opposed to excessively detailed -- it needs to be shown in quite a range of sizes.

Speaking of sizes, the logo is currently about 160x40 (4:1), much taller than that will cause me problems but wider is probably ok if necessary. Again as usual if you have a great idea and need 3:1 to pull it of -- definitely go for it.

The images attached below just show placement and such of the logo, I made it in just a few minutes in GIMP, so completely ignore it's actual content :)

If you'd like to get more of a first-hand feel for the site let me know and I can send you a signup URL.
