LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Electric Tech is the residential department of Clinton Electric. We specialize in providing the best residential electrical service. Time issue: Residential customer do not want to sit home all day waiting for and electrician - we offer a two hour show up window. Money: customer want to know the price before we start the work instead of having an open time and material ticket. Cleaning: Customer want us to respect their home and clean our mess, which we do. Time & Money: customer do not want to pay for us to drive to the supply house or return the next day, so we bring our "WOW" truck - the warehouse on wheels, it carries 1,000s of parts, and if we do need to go to the supply house for that odd item, we do not charge the customer.
Clinton Electric is 30 years old and Electric Tech "our residential division" started 4 years ago.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We have a mess - we are currently using two logos.
Our original logo was a man (looks like a butler) walking on red carpet (symbolizing red carpert treatment) with a bulb in his hand. I never fully locked into this logo - just slightly misses the "Electric Tech" Idea - more like the Electric Butler -- I like the logo, I just see a conflict in presentation.
So, in an attempt to clean up the logo - we have the second WORD logo -- with BOLD and thin text and a receptacle face on the C. this one is cleaner - but it does not stand out.
When we show these logos to designers they all like the Text logo better BUT the ad people all like the MAN better -- And I find that people actually call us and say they saw our logo and like the man, I never had anyone call and say they like the Text logo. The next thing which I find interesting is when people ssee the MAN logo, they think we are part of a franchise - I never get this with the Text logo.
So, the man seems to be the better logo - but, he seems to miss the Electric Tech name -- its more like the Electric Butler -- the problem with our name is that the word TECH is used in education - I do not want to put a graduation cap on the man - than customer would think we were part of an education system and not a residential electrician -
I would like the logo to better match the name "Electric Tech" - have be simple but eye catching - making you take the second look. Also, I was told that a new logo should incorporate a ".com" to remind our customer to look us up. SO, I'd really like to see a logo with "ElectricTech.com" --
SLOGAN - Our first slogan - "Electricians at your Service" - the butler thing AND our second "Don't roll the dice get a fixed price" a bit complicated.
I would like a slogan like "is your electric a wreck call the tech" or something that ryhms with "tech" - i do not like the slogan just given it was just an idea. The problem I have is after I get an idea it's been hard to see others, I get fixed. Need new blood. -- something like "we'll send the Tech" "He's a heck of a Tech" -- I do not like these but that my ideas.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
First Residential homeowner -- and second, residential contractors that need an electrician
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
See what we need above -- I do not think that I want a simple design - I like the man better than the text. But if there was a simple design like the under armor, well that would be just fine. So, if it was simple it would need to be different -- not a swoop or a lighting bolt or a light bulb. - I say that but I like the Mr. Electric logo - which all it has is text and a light bulb. -- want to avoid the butler - and also the graduation cap -- our customer may think we provide education with a name like the Electric Tech -- In the trade we call our men Techs - "we'll send the Tech" --
Another idea - but one I could never seem to complete was aligning our slogan with the end of our name "Tech" - as either being smart or trained or the guy that does the real work. -- something like "don't call a doctor when you just need a tech" -- I hate slogan -- but that's one idea in my head.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
I would like to incorporate the ".com" in the logo -- ElectricTech.com -- I was told that would help get prospective customers to seek out our site.
