Who are you?
BathMums is a free to use community website for parents and families living in the Bath, England and the local area. Our aim is to give parents everything "child related" under one roof. Whether they are looking for details about a school in the area, find a new toddler group to attend, or ideas on how to occupy their kids this weekend, they'll find this and much more on Bathmums.
What do you need?
We require a logo that works both online and for print. Preference will be given to logo's that combine the city of Bath and the family theme.
Our website has already been built using a standard wordpress layout, so we're looking to "skin" the template with an eye catching logo that's friendly to it's audience and attractive to it's members. The success of the website depends on the memberbase we can attract, therefore it's vital we have strong emphasis on the "not a member?, register now!" section on the top right of every page (see screen dumps).
The successful pitch will need to have the following:
Design of a strong logo, for both online and print
The logo will need to work in a 242 x 90 pixel space on white background at top left of site (see screen dumps)
Upon agreement of logo, the bidder should also create a colour palette for the existing page templates. This should be for hyperlinks, form buttons, etc. (Please note we DON'T want a website design, just a "skin" to match the logo!)
An eye-catching layout/graphic in the top right of the web page (see screensample1) for new members.
All graphical source files (pref. Photoshop) - copyright will remain ours.
Who Is Your Audience?
Parents with children under 18 are our main audience. We've provided them easy navigation round the website and we're looking for a logo and colour scheme that matches.
We Like These Examples
http://www.annabelkarmel.com/ - love the clean logo and how the colours work with the website. The colours are too pink for us and we'd be looking for something more universal.
http://www.mumsnet.com/ - like the idea behind the logo but the colour scheme doesn't work, too dull!
http://www.netmums.com - great logo, the family theme is represented really well with a good use of colours. Too many colours on the tabs for us though
We Absolutely Must Have
Use of colour that works with the easy design of the website. A colour scheme that matches or compliments our company logo, see http://thebreakscompany.com/
