What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
What is your industry?
Consulting and Professional Services
What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
- transformation (butterfly or something similar)
- using the resources you already have to create something new and innovative (mission of project bootstrappes)
What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)
I like image and text. I'd like to have a butterfly (or some other symbol of transformation) that I can use alone, without the text, for things like social media and other uses that need simplicity. (So, I'd like the logo to be able to break into pieces - whole logo (image and text), logo only, and text only.)
Do you have any other info or links you want to share?
Bootstrappes is the alternative name for my consulting company, DLB Consulting Group LLC. The idea behind Bootstrappes is that we help people use the resources they already have to make their organization great. Rather than changing a company to make it better, we build on the things they have and the strengths of the organization, and make small, incremental changes if needed. But most of the time, we find that the organization already has everything they need in terms of resources (people, information, processes); they just need someone to organize it better, so it all flows. That's where Bootstrappes is different from other consulting companies. We don't tear apart what's already there and needs to be improved; rather, we build on it, to help bring out the butterfly that's already there.
My existing website with existing logo (I like the butterfly a lot, but it was clip art, and I'd like one drawn for me that I can use without worrying about copyright or ownership issues; also it's to simple - need artistic touch): bootstrappes.com
My law firm, B-Law LLC, to get an idea of my values and background: b-law.com
My background, so you know more about me and my values: dianabartolotta.com
My formal profile, on LinkedIn, so you know the serious side: www.linkedin.com/in/dianabartolotta/
Twitter account, so you know the connection side: https://twitter.com/bootstrappes
Note: Once the project is done and we have a design, I will probably need a second logo designed, for the consulting company (DLB Consulting Group LLC). It will be more formal and simple than the Bootstrappes one. I will be using it for more serious applications, such as when proposing government contracts. My thought is that if I decide to do a second logo, I would want it to be a spin-off and similar in style to the Bootstrappes one, so (if I decide to do the DLB Consult one), it will be with the same designers who wins the Bootstrappes contest.
Second note: Basic idea for logo that I've had is included in uploaded file below. However, feel free to be more creative! (I'm not.) I also like the idea of having an image of someone actually pulling himself up by his bootstrappes, so feel free to play around with that as well. (I've found that in my past projects, the creatives come up with much better ideas than I can and that the one we choose is usually pretty far from - and much better than - the idea we went in with. So go crazy!)
