What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
The Tourism Industry Association of Canada needs a new set of logos.
What is TIAC?
TIAC is an advocacy organization that is responsible for representing tourism interests before the national government. Our role involves promoting and supporting government policies, programs and activities that will benefit the sector's growth and development.
The challenge in this project is that our membership is as diverse as our country itself. We represent:
-Over 300 tourism businesses and organizations and thousands of affiliate members from coast to coast to coast
-Over 1.6 million Canadians whose jobs depend on the economic activity generated by travel and tourism
-Large national and multinational companies as well as small- and medium-sized enterprises
-Airports, attractions, concert halls, convention centres, duty-free shops, festivals & events, restaurants & foodservices, arenas, transportation, travel services, travel agents, destination and provincial/territorial marketing organizations, suppliers, travel media, and educational institutions
Who we ARE NOT:
We are an organization trying to facilitate travel to Canada (people coming here), NOT the other way around (people leaving here). That means we are NOT all about palm trees and exotic beaches and Mediterranean cruises. We are also looking for someone to think outside the box - Our tourism industry has much more to offer than just beavers, mounties and igloos.
What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)
In the final package, we'd love to see multiple versions of the logo:
1) The full name in English only, French only, and bilingual (both)
2) The acronyms (TIAC / AITC) in English only, French only, and bilingual (both)
3) Color, greyscale and black/white
The winner might be just a wordmark or a full out logo - we're open to your ideas.
Do you have any other info or links you want to share?
Our website is at www.tiac.travel (but it is going to be changing soon - see the screenshots below). Our new website will be similar but predominantly in a bright blue and white, so we like blues and bright greens because they work well with our current design.
We have previously bought a great logo through this website for another project, the Canadian Tourism Awards. You can see it at www.tiac-en.adbeast.com. We loved the way that the Canadian Tourism Awards logo shows people and the maple leaf, we felt it represented Canada and our industry's diversity quite well.
We've also attached a shot of our old logo... We hate the colors and the tusks because we don't feel they really represent anything.
