LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We're a social utility focused on people who find sites such as facebook and myspace a bit intimidating; its for people who never get over that feeling of unwelcomed vulnerability.
SocialOrbits is designed to fill the void created by those ex-Facebook/MySpace users whose lives have changed and as such now have a need for a utility that is geared towards an affluent, personally private, socially mature user.
People will be allowed to create enclosed 'Orbits' that consist of their closest friends and family.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a simple logo that contains one decisive piece of iconography that can be used as a favicon but also as the face of the company as a whole. We believe that the second 'O' in SocialOrbits would be the best letter in which to create this icon, but we are open to ideas. We would like it to be fresh and beautiful. Not kitschy or cool. It should be clean and not complicated. It should convey maturity and elegance.
We're leaning towards pastel colors; light greens, light oranges, light blues, but we're not set on that. So if you think dark colors might work, like chocolate and ruby, lets see it. Maybe a combo of the light and dark?
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
The slight majority of our users will be woman; our target user is between the ages of 27-35, but we need it to be friendly across the board.
At one time actively used a Social Network
Now they feel too old for them
They crave new levels of privacy
Affluent ($50K+ annual)
Educated (College graduate)
Upper Middle class
Our user is that person who makes a point to always send you a Christmas card, even when they were single. They always take it upon themselves to call the group and arrange to have everyone get together. They pretend that having this responsibility annoys them, but they aren't fooling anyone. At a dark dive of a bar, or a fancy restaurant, they feel right at home. Though they are successful, and they might be wearing a label, they arent the type to make sure its showing. They are busy and love their friends, and spend what little time they have preserving those friendships.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Nope, we want a blank canvas. Surprise us, we promise we'll provide constant feedback.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
The icon is absolutely necessary. I prefer it to be more literal towards the word Orbit, than the concept of how the user will use it. If that makes sense.
