Hi, I'm Marc Horowitz, one-man think tank and terrible graphic designer. That's why I need you. I'm starting a new project called talkshow247 that will be launching on election day, so we gotta hurry to get a design. Here's what the project is:
TalkShow247 is a talk show that I'm hosting from my house 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from Election day to Groundhog Day! If youd like to be on the show, please come on by my place!! We can talk about anything youd like. Have an interesting story to tell? Love advice for me? Or would you just like to just rant? Who cares what it is, Id love to hear it. Send me an email at - host@talkshow247.com - and I'll add you to the show schedule. Not in the LA area? Just go on ustream and Ill have you on from your own living room.
If you want to know more about me, visit http://www.ineedtostopsoon.com . And please feel free to take a look at the talk show website, http://www.talkshow247.com .
Here is what I need:
I need a logo for the show. It will be used on the website, for banners, postcards, all promo materials.
Our target audience is:
The target audience is 15 - 34 male & female. I want them to think the show is cool, retro, fun, and slightly crazy. Something original that nobody has done before. Something artistic and entertaining.
We like these designs:
I like a lot of things on this site - http://www.manystuff.org ; here are a few of my favs, http://www.manystuff.org/?p=2849 , http://www.manystuff.org/?p=2813 , http://www.manystuff.org/?p=2708 , http://www.manystuff.org/?p=2676 ,
Here is another inspirational site - http://www.draplin.com/ . I like showcave's logo, http://is.gd/52wF , a gallery in my neighborhood.
I like bright colors that pop, neons can be fun. I also like lo-fi (examples @ http://nastynets.com/?what=yes&paged=3 ), michele gondryesque stuff, and crude line drawings like http://www.flickr.com/photos/marchorowit... (a drawing I did of one of the VHS cameras I will be using for the show).
Aside from streaming through my computer, I am using all vintage equipment from the 80s and early 90s for the talk show - here is a pic of one of the VHS cameras I use, http://www.flickr.com/photos/marchorowit... . And here is the video mixer, title maker, and sound mixer - http://www.flickr.com/photos/marchorowit...
We absolutely must have (or we don't want to see) this in our design:
The logo should be clear and readable. The design should be identifiable and convey exactly what the show is: a lo-fi, 24/7, web streaming talk show from my house that is open to everyone 24/7. The design should probably contain "talkshow247" and if you want to experiment with it including the web address "talkshow247.com" you can, but I'm not sure that is the route.
