LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
CloudSwitch provides an enterprise gateway to the cloud. The CloudSwitch software appliance enables enterprises to benefit from the clouds dramatic improvements in cost, rapid deployment and scaling. Backed by Matrix Partners, Atlas Venture and Commonwealth Capital Ventures, CloudSwitch is based in Burlington, MA and is led by seasoned entrepreneurs from BMC, EMC, Netezza, RSA, SolidWorks and Sun Microsystems.
CloudSwitch makes it easy. Enterprises are protected from the complexity, risks and potential lock-in of the cloud, turning cloud resources into a flexible, cost-effective extension of the corporate data center.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a company/product logo that will be used in all company vehicles, the vast majority of which will be on-line, but some off-line. These vehicles include web site, email, data sheets, white papers, PowerPoint, product icons, etc. This logo will also be used to drive our color palette and we would like a breadth of colors for our palette, with strong/bright colors and not a lot of color density or saturation (for a "lightweight" feel).
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Medium and large enterprise companies with existing data centers. Target individuals within those companies include: heads of IT and senior engineers and developers. These are busy, serious executives, mostly men in their 30s to 50s that make 100k+. They do not like "fluff" and want to get a clear, fast understanding of the company and technology.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
We like the simplicity of the Dropbox logo at http://www.getdropbox.com/ although it is separate design element from the name and we dont think we want that. We like the hubspot logo at http://www.hubspot.com/ for the integration of the creative into the name.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We have a current logo (see www.cloudswitch.com), but we want a logo design that just focuses on the name and not have an extra creative object. We think the two words, cloud and switch, provide a rich opportunity for a creative execution on the brand: potentially different color treatments and executions for the words and some sort of graphic that signifies this switch or transformation from expensive cumbersome data centers to the freedom of the cloud but we are not designers, so these are just ideas. We feel strongly that the design should NOT include clouds or switches! Don't be too literal ;-) We like brighter colors that are not too saturated. The graphic element in the name will be the basis for icons and other creative treatments.
Things we dont like or don't need for this project or other things to avoid using, doing, seeing, etc.
No clouds, no switches, no really dark colors, no black
