LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

The idea behind our company is to award technical skills development in youth athletes. We print colorful tags (or Skillzys) that youth athletes can earn by executing specific skills in competitive situations.

Similar to the martial arts belts and Boy and Girl Scout patches, our patent-pending achievement recognition system allows youth athletes to work towards target goals, to demonstrate technical proficiency, and to earn Skillzys that they can proudly display on their sports backpacks or bags.

Skillzys are credit card sized plastic tags that are punched with a hole in the upper left hand corner. This punch allows kids to collect Skillzys and display them on lockable backpack rings.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We don't hate our logo, but we are curious in seeing what comes from other creatives' minds.

Our logo will be displayed on our website, used in marketing and other promotional materials, invoices and company letterhead and business cards, and printed on individual Skillzys.

We need the word "Skillzys" in the design and are looking for a unique symbol (is that the right word?) that either helps capture what we are all about or depicts the brand name. By symbol I mean something like the Nike swoosh.

The symbol in the current logo (the orange card with a hole punch in the top left-hand corner) is fine to develop further. We don't NEED something new, but are more than open to it.

We are a bit tight on space on the Skillzys themselves as they are sized like your typical credit card (roughly 2" x 3"). So we might look at using the symbol on the Skillzys tags themsleves, without using the "Skillzys" text.

Man, hope this all makes sense...

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

We see these products used by the 9 to 14 year old youth athletes, though we are marketing to coaches, club directors, and parents. We also plan on partnering with corporate sponsors (who would advertise on the backs of the Skillzys).

We're looking for a simple, slick/clean, professional logo, if that helps at all.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

The depth and simplicity of these designs:

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

The logo must contain the word "Skillzys" and a defining symbol. The tag line "Show your skills" is not necessary, but can be incorporated in the design.

We want the design to pop with some depth, so some shading and gradients might work well. We like the 3d look (see samples above)
