LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

PDX Rovers is Oregons largest and most trusted independent Land Rover service and repair center. Located in Portland, Oregon we service all brands of Land Rovers Discovery, Range Rover, Defender, Freelander, LR2 and LR3. We are a family-owned and operated business and have been in business since 1991. We represent the new breed of automotive repair we run a clean shop, use modern computer technology, recycle used fluids, carry an open dialogue with customers, and we consider many long-time customers our friends. Fourty percent of new customers come to us via referrals from existing customers and we also get a lot of customers through our internet advertising.

Go to our web page to read and see more www.pdxrovers.com

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

Wed like a stand-out logo that we can use in the top banner of our web page, on car window stickers, on business cards, on t-shirts, in online advertising, etc.

Our logo needs to contain our two business names (see explanation below) and some sort of graphic treatment.

In a few weeks we are opening a subsidiary of PDX Rovers called Bend Rovers. So the logo would need to be presented next to both of our business names with a .com after each like this:

pdxrovers.com

bendrovers.com

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our target customer is the young to middle-aged professional (sales executive, self employed, lawyer, real estate broker, etc), homemakers and retirees who like to drive a great luxury 4x4 vehicle. Our customers are *not* extreme off-roader types but in their leisure time many of them will use their Land Rover to go into nature, go skiing, go to the coast, i.e. light backcountry driving excursions.

In general our customers are smart, fun, well-educated, well-traveled, well-read, they know what they want, etc.

They like to come to us because we are different, we are fair, and we're a breath of fresh air - for example, our waiting room is groovy with Danish designer furniture and African masks on the wall.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Cool but still readable letters are great.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

No generic automotive symbols like tools or a mechanic. No elephant like our competitor but something that stands out and makes an impression on a window sticker - something our customers would like on their vechicle side window. No photography we would like something which is reproducible - large and small.

We hope youll do some research on Land Rovers heres one source to get you visualizing:

http://www.landrover.com/us/en/Vehicles/...

We were thinking of something that has the connotation of the world, travel i.e. the true spirit of the best 4x4 vehicle in the world. Something with a subtle zebra stripe? Maybe playing with the X and making it zebra-stribed? But we don't want to box you guys in - surprise us please. Something with an African sunset in the bush? A cute outline drawing of a land rover (but we dont want to run into copyright issues though) with some nature in the back? Oregon is famous for the outdoors its mountains, valleys and rivers. But it could also be something indicating family and/or adventure?

Preferably no colored box or lines around the logo (but, you may always try to surprise us and change our minds) just something simple, light, worldly with our company name(s) incorporated, i.e. pdxrovers.com and bendrovers.com.

It might be an idea to play into the colors of our web page www.pdxrovers.com

The green background color code is # BAC59A. The color of the red text is # CC0000. So, while purple is probably out - deep orange, yellows, reds, greens and black would be in, right?!

PS: Down below we uploaded four files: one shows our current vehicle window stickers which a pilot customer put on his pilot bag, one showing our trailer art, one showing our office/waiting room and finally one showing our flyers. As you can see, we need a logo to tie all of our marketing communications together!

Greetings,

Francis and Elsa
