LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are a new company that makes games for social networks.
We are called Summerlight Games.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a logo that will be used all over the place: on our website, on business cards and in our games.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Anyone who plays games on social networks, which spans a very broad range of nationalities and demographics. This is NOT the "core gamer" audience, so please stay away from traditional gamer motifs (no cross hairs or explosions) and "hardcore" designs that skew to a 20something male audience.
Both women and men will play our games, so the design needs to be communicate lightness, openness and accessibility while being clean and bold. Our games are social, so it would be good to try and incorporate a sense of connection.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
Innocent Drinks: http://www.innocentdrinks.co.uk/
Cute, friendly, accessible logo. Conveys a lot about the brand, which is healthy and natural smoothies with no additives.
Both the main Nintendo logo and the Wii logo are great. They are clean and friendly.
I love the Chrome logo. The colors and design are attractive and intensely clickable.
I love this classic Apple logo (the icon, not the serif text): http://www.goodlogo.com/vote/2390
It's just absolutely iconic, bright, colorful and memorable. I am also a fan of the newer, modern shiny beveled look Apple logo.
Classic piece of work. I love the use of color and the way the peacock is implied.
It's intriguing, clean and mysterious. You want to explore what it's about.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
It would be great to incorporate an iconic element that could be used and recognizable even if abstracted from the full logo. It is perfectly fine for the 'Games' portion of the logo to be subordinate to 'Summerlight'.
