Style and Concept
What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?
text with a subtle illustration that makes it clear what a vibraphone is. If integrated with the text, perhaps have mallets over some letters, or letters could be the bars of the vibraphone, or something way better you come up with!
What colors do you want to see in your logo?
We can have a second color (silver or gold/brass may work well), but logo must work well in black and white. We will need a logo that looks great on a black background, as well as on white. Please provide several versions.
What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?
no real objections.
Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
web primarily, some signage, some simple print such as business cards
Do you have other info or links you want to share?
This is a logo for a professional vibraphone musician. Perform as a trio with guitar and bass, and also as a solo, and as a quintet with added clarinet and congas.
We are an alternative to the usual "jazz trio" (that usually includes piano or guitar as the main instrument) for corporate events and parties. The logo should have a sense of "happy" and "fun". The illustrative elements suggesting the vibraphone must be subtle. The "buyers" often do not know what a vibraphone is, so that is why we want the instrument suggested in the logo.

Here are some font styles from the site urbanfont.com that we like "GoodVibes" set in, just as examples to look at:
