UltraSound features a "wind synthesizer," specifically the "EVI" or "Electric Valve Instrument", played by the band leader. What is unique about this instrument is its amazing versatility and its human expression. It can sound exactly like an acoustic instrument such as violin or oboe or flute, but can as be an entirely new sound. Because the player uses his breath, mouth and fingers to shape and caress each note, the sounds, even when "out of this world," have a warm, touching, human quality.
Simply put, UltraSound is the marriage of technology and human expression. Capture this in the logo and the award is yours!
Other instruments in the group are electronic keyboards, digital and acoustic percussion, electric guitar and electric bass. We also perform as a solo act, "UltraSound Solo" with "virtual" tracks played back on a laptop, and also "live looping".
The music is quite varied: soundscapes, new age, classic jazz, smooth jazz, global, classical.
We are giving the corporate event planner an alternative to the usual jazz trio for receptions. Many of the clients are finance or tech or medical companies, and our unusual instruments provide something interesting to watch as well as listen to.
While we want to logo to portray the high-tech nature of our instruments, but do not want it to not be overly serious. It should still have an element of warmth, and fun.
