Who are you?
Newly formed consulting practice, focusing on Board and Organization Development, as well as coaching for Executive Directors of nonprofit organizations throughout the US that are dedicated to building strong communities. Some operate neighborhood food pantries, or bring meals to homebound elderly; some are trying to create jobs and affordable housing in low income communities; others are trying to help runaway youth. Two are working with veterans who are coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan and their families. Most of our clients are small, struggling nonprofits that don't have $$ to hire people with with experience in nonprofit management--so they can hire our team to help, on a project-by-project basis. They are trying to meet increasing needs JUST as donations and grants are being cut back. Does that give you a good picture?
What do you need?
Would like a LOGO for the business that conveys our commitment to working in partnership with the nonprofits we serve... That we exist to support THEIR mission, and will help them become viable, effective and respected organizations. We only want to market our consulting services to nonprofits that share our core values. So our logo will need to suggest, visually, that our company shares their commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable community residents.
That's step one. If this website can help me identify a logo that works, later on I would ask the "creative" designer to customize it for use on a website, on letterhead and business cards. Would rely on guidance and expertise from the graphic designers on this site about what kinds of image would work best on a website and on business cards.
Who Is Your Audience?
Nonprofit organizations, faith based organizations. Community coalitions. The impression I want to give them is that Building Community is dedicated to providing consulting support and resources they can draw upon to achieve success for their clients, and for the community they serve--but also remain viable, and sustainable as nonprofit organizations.
We Like These Examples
Not sure about that. If you tell me what to look at, I will go check it out
We Absolutely Must Have
1. Exact spelling of company name: Building Community through Leadership and Organization Development LLC
2. A logo that will work for a website, as well as business cards (or that is adapatable for both)
