Tell us what you need

What is the exact name you would like in your logo?

The Buchholz Law Firm

What is your industry?

Legal

What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

Professionalism that is modern and approachable
Trustworthy and reputable
Forward-thinking

What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)

We need 1) a square logo (maybe with text, maybe without?), 2) a business card sized logo (maybe with text, maybe without?), and 3) a logo/header with text for a new web site (ideally about 1220x420). For the header logo - please include as much of "The Buchholz Law Firm, Estate & Trust Planning, Adoption & Assisted Reproduction Law" for text as possible. We have two web sites that link back and forth to each other - one focused on Estate and Trust Planning (estatelawyermn.com) and the other on Adoption and Surrogacy (adoptionlawyermn.com). Both sites are not live and have a long way to go until their live - but here the draft sites with the basic color schemes and design:

http://estatelawyermn.bizwebsitepro.com/
You can also see on these draft sites the hideous starting places that we've included for header logos - this is what's stressing me out. We can get the pics and text fixed up, but the header/banner is critical to making the sites look good - please help :)

Do you have any other info or links you want to share?

Please do not use any typical legal themes - books, gavel, quill pen, scales of justice, etc.

While I think that I'd like to include a spectrum (similar to the one on the adoption site linked to above, I'm not totally committed to that, but I do know that I don't want dull, soft, monotone, boring color schemes) in the design, I mostly want it to be colorful - to stand out and be noticed but still represent the professionalism needed to attract clients that are dealing with estate planning, loss of a family member, infertility issues, and adoptions.
