Proposed Goal of Company

Responsible Living
This matching system aims to raise awareness about the need for sustainable living, and lowering carbon emissions is one of the means to achieve that. Having more carpools would decrease the number of cars on the road. We could also explore the system of carbon credits offsetting, a financial instrument sanctioned by the Kyoto Protocol. Companies with high carbon emissions (e.g. airline companies) could buy carbon credits from our carpool system that offers to reduce carbon emissions.
Doing good creatively
Using a points system to log mileage, these points could be exchanged for incentives such as petrol vouchers, or drivers could pledge amounts to charities. Giving back to society would be incorporated into everyday activities like driving and make it easier to adopt. Drivers can also choose to donate their rewards to appointed charities.
Networking
Carpooling, be it regular or ad-hoc is a good way to meet new people. It alleviates the monotony of driving to work alone every day. This could work for people in the same organization, or people living in the same neighbourhood travelling to a common destination.
Convenience
The riders are the main beneficiaries as they enjoy the luxury of being driven to their destination. Our revenue model could be accepting subscription fees from only the riders, while drivers get to accumulate points as an incentive to use the system. Another incentive could be free conversion of driver to rider once a certain number of points are reached.
