Dr. Hinkie's slogan is "I Teach Teachers." Specifically, he is a niche expert at teaching string performers (violinists, violists, cellists) how to go from being excellent perfomers to also being excellent teachers of stringed instruments.
A world-class performer himself with degrees in performance and music education, Dr. Hinkie brings excellence to string players at any level, in any classroom, in any group. Educators and students alike find him warm, real and encouraging, always pointing them toward growth through personal discipline and consistency. Performers blossom into teachers, and students flourish as performers under Dr. Hinkies tutelage.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
A color logo that includes one symbol that can be used on its own -- a graphic"bug" that fits in square dimensions nicely). Logo needs to stand on its own in one color and greyscale renderings.
Logo should include the name "Dr. Hinkie" and immediately say "stringed music" (violin, viola, cello, orchestra)
Looking for a "Mozart meets Social Networking/Web 2.0" feel
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Music educators (band teachers, choir directors, orchestra teachers) at the middle school, high school and college level. Dr. Hinkie's core market is band and choir teachers who have to take on orchestra programs (often due to cuts in funding for the Arts in a local school district). With their musical background and Dr. Hinkie's coaching, these music educators can confidently teach stringed instruments at the middle school and high school level.
Dr. Hinkie needs a brand that says "I'm here to help you in a fun, empowering, high-quality way!" He brings a RARE combination of personableness (highly relational and well-loved by students and fellow music educators alike) and musical excellence (performs regularly in world-class settings with world-class orchestras). His brand and logo needs to say "accessible excellence."
Dr. Hinkie is neither "snooty" nor untouchable as many become at his level of achievement in orchestral music... he is funny, personal, "normal", and approachable to the poorest students from worst parts of town to the highest-paid directors of programs in the country.
People need to think "wow, he is musically EXCELLENT... and at the same time quite FUN and NICE to work with."
