Our mission statement is:
SanctionsAlert.com will be providing independent and authoritative information and training on economic sanctions.
Target audience: Financial institutions (such as banks, and securities broker dealers, insurance firms) and large corporations (involved in global import/export), such as GE, Shell, Wal Mart, etc.
Geography: On a worldwide basis.
Our goal is to spread the message on US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control, United Nations Economic Sanctions programs (like the one against Russia/Ukraine, Iran, Cuba), European Union and other countries sanctions programs and how firms can comply with laws and regulations related to economic sanctions.
These economic sanctions are imposed by international bodies and countries to exert pressure on individuals or political regimes and for the advancement of foreign policy objectives.
Economic/Financial Sanctions imposed by OFAC, EU and UN are changing fast, and are no longer limited to a few countries. They now extend to major economic players like Russia, and even cybercriminals.
Failure to comply can have serious consequences. Multi-billion dollar/euro penalties can be imposed, bank account and funds can be frozen, whereas not doing business because you think you cannot (but you can) can hurt the business.
We are now preparing everything from website to content to events and training.
Our temporary website is www.sanctionstraining.net. You can see some images there, for inspiration, like the frozen money.
Please IGNORE the logo (blue and yellow circle) you see on sanctionstraining.net, because that logo belongs to an affiliated company of ours.
Attached is a logo (puzzle pieces in globe) that we developed temporarily. We do like that image, so something like that would be nice. Another idea would be to use a frozen coin, or bank note or so. Please use your imagination and creativity.
