LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Investing In Communities is a non-profit organization launching by the end of 2009 (as well as its Web site). It is an extension of an existing proprietary program of Chicago-based MAP Real Estate, however, the non-profit will be generally unconnected from MAP.
The objective of the organization is to encourage consumers of real estate services (business tenants renewing leases or leasing new office space, homebuyers and sellers, etc.) to require their broker to participate in IIC by donating a percentage of the landlord-paid commission to IIC.
IIC will then allocate the donations to non-profit organizations in the environment, education, women & girls, social justice, and arts & culture issue areas.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a logo to represent IIC and its purpose. It is a socially-responsible non-profit organization. Its identity/representation is an "ecology," because it engages with multiple communities and industries to work toward making this world a better place. It is an interaction/hub of diverse communities coming together to cause a change through determination. It is a long-term goal to have a global impact as well as with involvement from noted thought leaders.
IIC will try to avoid being overly "cool" or "trendy" for its younger audiences because we don't want to talk down to them. We also want a professional face to donor audiences in real estate and other industries. We want to communicate community engagement and social responsibility, while being smart, clean and professional (not too granola-y!) Think NPR not MTV. Fun approach with a balance.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Consumers of real estate services (business tenants renewing leases or leasing new office space, homebuyers and sellers, etc) and the broker community -- especially who seek out IIC based on our mission of being socially responsible.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
No overly cliche designs, for example, no basic stick figures holding hands around the globe.
