What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
Learn - Lead - Change: We would like these three words incorporated if possible.
People work not critter work: Our customers are state fish and wildlife agencies, but we provide services around organizational effectiveness and leadership development, ie people work.
A sense of increasing knowledge, guiding through change, and leadership development are all strong themes for us.
What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)
Logo plus Text preferred.
The Management Assistance Team or The MAT Team needs to be incorporated. Prefer the full spelling if legible.

Associated organization, like the logo but we aren't working with critters. Same audience: www.fishwildlife.org
Would like something that has 1-2 color + Black, gradations/shades ok, but that can reproduce in B/W ok.
Like the general overall shape to be contained in a square type area but realize text poses a challenge.

The Management Assistance Team, MAT for short, is a small team that provides consultancy and training on Leadership Development, Organizational Development and Effectiveness to all 50 states' fish and wildlife agencies. Our focus is on the 'people work', not the 'critter work', but we have to keep both in mind when presenting an image of ourselves. We are grant funded so we can't seem too high tech and corporate, but want to give the impression of expertise and knowledge that can help agencies...especially through times of change. We are affiliated with the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, so some connection in branding with their logo is ok, but not an absolute. ( www.fishwildlife.org ). The MAT Team has been around for over 20 years and we decided it was time to rebrand with a fresh, more current logo that reflected the people work, not the critter work and that didn't look so 'government' as our old logo did. We like the color blue, see general idea of our beginning attempts at a logo... http://mat.adobeconnect.com/mlogo/ Using this new logo as a starting point would be fine...We like the upward growing concept, kind of like steps, but don't like the wide aspect ratio of the design. Or a completely different approach/look is ok too. It is acceptable for the three words learn, lead, change to not be present in a smaller print size of the logo, and present in a large print variation. (Large version with three words, small version without).
Comments on Learn, Lead, Change: A big part of what the MAT Team does is provide trainings and workshops to state fish and wildlife agencies, hence the learn. Our main mission is in leadership development and helping agencies develop more leadership, hence lead, and organizational change and helping state agencies through this is the reason for change
