LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Hello!

These are the sites I'm about to go live with:

fourteenergirl.com

fourteenerwriter.com

The first is a personal site and the second will be my independent writing business site. I've purchased the domains and have the content written, but neither of these are 'live' yet.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

If you look at this site:

http://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/

... you can see the top banner has the Yarn Harlot's icon (blue background with a 'Y' made of yarn) in the address bar and in the browser tab. You'll also notice her logo across the top of her blog site. These are all coordinated. I need something similar to this to establish my brand.

Please send questions to fourteenergirl@gmail.com or Skype at fourteenergrrl ... thanks!

Logo Descriptions

For both of my sites, I'm planning to use banners of mountain ranges. For each site, the logo should include a mountain range with a girl/woman sitting on the right side of the mountain (so she's facing the rest of the website). These images should be recognizably similar as I'll use them both on each of the sites to refer to the other site. Further:

the image for fourteenergirl.com should have the woman sitting, knees up and knitting with the yarn unrolling from below (out of sight). There should be a mountaineer's backpack sitting on the ground next to her.

the image for fourteenerwriter.com should have the woman sitting, knees up and typing on a laptop with a camera sitting on the ground next to her.

I've attached a collection of images that hint at what I'm looking for ... the yarn balls, the mountains, etc. I'm looking for something not quite as 'cartoony' as the Life is Good stuff, but not too slick either. Friendly, comfortable, and real is the sense I'm looking for ... the fourteenergirl site will contain lots of photographs and videos after the initial launch, so I'll need something that doesn't make the rest of the site look out of place. I will also be branding 'fourteenergirl' and I may make t-shirts with the images you create.

I need the following:

two logos, one for each site (descriptions of each below), and for use in my e-mail signature

one small logo for each site to include in the address bar and browser tab and bookmarks

I'll be using the WordPress Thesis theme, but I don't know what size the logos need to be, so I'll need your guidance on those issues.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

For fourteenergirl.com, the audience is family and friends and I'll be creating my brand there.

Four fourteenerwriter.com, the audience will be clients who need my writing skills.

WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:

Life is Good, but not too cartoon-y

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:

friendly, accessible, and real logos that are NOT too slick or over-hyped
