LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
A "social object" can be described as the centerpiece in a conversation between two or more people. Humans like to socialize, but there needs to be a reason for it to happen in the first place. People dont just talk randomly they tend to talk around objects.
A social object, then, is the reason two people are talking to each other, rather than talking to somebody else.
For example, you are a huge Apple fan and tend to geek out about Apple products every time you meet another Apple fan. Apple is the social object.
This blog post explains it well:
The Social Object website will present information and inspiration about developing communities online.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
A logo for "Social Object" to be primarily used on a website and on business cards.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Small to medium sized businesses, including the CEO and advertising, PR, and marketing professionals. Secondary audiences include journalists and college students.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
"Web Strategy by Jeremiah Owyang": the circles around "Web Strategy"
"Brian Solis": The @ sign inside the name and the talk bubble with "defining the convergence between media and influence"
"Logic + Emotion": the insights / ideas / interactions part
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
The logo should be clean, professional and modern.
All color combinations will be considered.
The logo should work on a website and on business cards.
The logo must include the phrase "social object", either as two words: "Social Object" (caps or lowercase) or as a single word: "SocialObject"
Include a version with the byline "engage your community" (caps or lowercase): this byline might be in a talk bubble, for example.
