LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are a well established framing subcontractor located in Santa Barbara, since 1992. Please see our website ( gordon-fiano.com ) to view our current logo and for more background info. We are a highly professional service provider, with about 50 carpenters, foremen, superintendents, estimators, and a fully staffed office. We do all types and sizes of jobs, but really differentiate ourselves on the more challenging ones. We are a California corporation.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

An updated logo specifically for use in print ads and on web pages. It will probably not be used on stationary, but could possibly be used on T-shirts.

A clean simple design that is sophisticated and professional. Probably monochrome or near monochrome, but would consider multiple colors. Our current logo is fine for the front of t-shirts (we use an expanded version ellipse with more graphics and verbiage on the back of shirts), but it looks clunky in print.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

General contractors mainly who hire subcontractors such as us. But also project owners who are acting as their own contractor or involved in the selection of subcontractors. They want to know that you are established and will take care of business.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We have great brand recognition in our market with the current ellipse shape, so any design that incorporated that shape would have a leg up in representing us. However we are willing to "think outside the ellipse", since this logo will be used in different applications then the current one (on t-shirts and jobsite signs mainly). We will also consider more typical builder designs with rooflines, tools, etc.

Probably no trees, either pines or palms. No 4wd trucks, paul bunyan types, etc.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Our two last names and our trade ( Gordon * Fiano, Framing ). We have always used a round dot centered vertically between our names and like it, but would consider some other punctuation or divisor so the viewers know that they are two last names. We could also include " Incorporated, Inc. , Framing Contractors ", but it is a small logo so can't be loaded up with too much stuff.

The elliptical shape would be great if it can be incorporated, maybe subtly or as a background, but we are not limited by it.
