LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Chicago Youth Voices Network (CYVN) is a citywide collaborative of youth media organizations whose mission is to amplify youth voice in Chicago. Our member organizations work with young people from almost every Chicago neighborhood in all forms
of media, from video and spoken word poetry to radio, magazine and digital media production.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a logo for our citywide youth media project titled "nuf said." The project will unfold in three steps: social media training, polling, and media production. Youth leaders will engage their peers in polling around the following issues: crime, education, employment, housing, and health & the environment. Using the information
gathered from online polls, youth media artists will create stories that bring the
data to life and reflect the real-life experiences of young people in Chicago.
"nuf said" is CYVN's first major collaborative project, and we're looking to build a brand around this logo design.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Our primary audience is urban youth, ages 14-20. The "nuf said" brand needs to be engaging and compelling to this audience, and it needs to speak to youth in a language they understand but does not talk down to them. We want youth to view "nuf said" as a cool place that represents them and their voices.
At the same time, the brand should be accessible and identifiable by our secondary audience of adult stakeholders, including funders and policymakers.
WE LIKE THESE EXAMPLES:
We're really open to ideas. That said, one place to start in terms of inspiration might be hip-hop culture, given that our target demographic consumes these types of media messages on a regular basis.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR PIECE:
The title of the project: nuf said. Also, it would be great to have our slogan integrated in the logo in some way. Our slogan is: "new media, research, and insights by and about Chicago Youth." We're also looking for bold and vibrant color combinations, but we don't have a particular color pallet in mind at this point.
