LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

The Data Pros is a software development firm founded in Mar. 2008 and we've grown pretty well to this point. We'll be starting a number of marketing projects in the next 6 months so we're looking to establish an on-going relationship with a designer who can get us a better/more professional logo/business card today, and can do some web/print work down the road.

Our company exists to help business leaders use technology to build stronger companies. Most of our work revolves around business process engineering, custom software and database development, and change management as new systems are rolled-out within our client companies.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a logo and a business card.

Logo:

The logo should contain the full company name "The Data Pros". The "The" can be smaller/on top of the other words or wherever, but it needs to be there somewhere and it needs to be readable.

The logo should be able to be used with or without our tagline. Our tagline is "Software Developers Who Know Business"

The logo should have some kind of icon. What that icon should be, I haven't been able to figure anything out. That's why we need a professional.

The logo will be used on the business card, on the web, in print, and in digital document templates.

Business Card:

The business card can be one or two sided. Die cut is OK. It should include the logo, the person's name, phone number, email address, and the url for our site.

The tagline should be there somewhere. It doesn't have to be as part of the logo if it looks/works better larger or as a design element.

Limited number of colors, not sure how many, but I don't want full color.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

We market to business owners/CEOs, and technology executives (CIOs, CTOs, IT Directors, etc.) in small-to-medium sized companies.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Here's the rub. I tend to like things like Boost Mobile (www.boostmobile.com) because it is simple and clean. But we're really selling a people and leadership, which I think tends to be better communicated with warmer and more organic designs. If you're not sure a path, ask some questions and I'll try to provide some answers.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

I'm not a fan of little stick people in logos, but I said it above and I'll say it again, our clients are buying access to our people and the leadership we can provide.

Most technology companies tend to use very cold colors, but we would like to use warmer and friendlier colors.

If you can find some way to create a logo that conveys a warm and freindly image, but retains a serious B2B edge, we'll probably like what you do.
