LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

protoFilter aims to simplify dry, hard-to-read, lengthy articles and research papers for those interested in web applications and technology. Additionally, at times we'll attempt to provide easy to digest takeaways from each article from the perspective of a Internet Marketer (e.g. SEO, SEM, social networker, email marketer), Product Manager, and/or Product Marketing Manager.

Although research papers aren't typically geared toward these audiences, we feel that there is valuable information in those articles that can help stimulate the creative juices for each of those roles.

ORIGINS:

The name protoFilter is a combination of "prototype" and "filter". Ideas expressed on protoFilter tend to be NEW and sometimes EXPERIMENTAL, hence the "prototype" root. Our objective is then to "Filter" the information into something a "not so nerdy" person may understand.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

~ Logo for use on Website / Blog

~ Logo for use on business cards

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Audience will experience us through the interwebs.

The audience is PROBABLY A:

~ web developer

~ internet product manager

~ online marketer

The audience is INTERESTED IN :

~ web applications (think: facebook, twitter, digg)

~ search marketing (think: Google / Yahoo, keywords, pay-per-click)

~ mobile applications (think: iphone apps, G1)

The LOGO should EVOKE FEELINGS OF:

~ credibility

~ simplicity

~ intelligent

~ entertainment

We want people to think of us as a reliable resource where they can find informative, simple and easy to understand summaries of complex, in depth articles and research papers in the internet space.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

colors: We like vibrant colors.

font: prefer san serif over serif ... but open to a combination of both if that looks good

We like logos from (not in any particular order):

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Even though we like Web 2.0-eee designs ... we don't like excessive gloss, gradients and reflections. The concept is more important than the *bling*

The logo should be able to work on a business card without having to tweak it too much or with full color printing.
