LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Our doman is www.kudoyou.com (under construction).
This is an internet start-up where users will be recipients or givers of recognition for the accomplishments of the recipient.
The product is "recognition of accomplishment". The product is an intangible where the giver cares about someone for some reason big or small and feels good in giving the recognition; the recipient feels proud, thanked, appreciated, cared for, noticed and the like. The logo should make the receiver feel noticed, appreciated and proud. Giver and recipient benefit.
Our company is founded by a community leader, business woman, mother of young adults who has seen through the years for the need for "recognition" to be real, on-time, near time to the event, and sincere.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
The logo must bring a "kudoyou" to life. Kudos is an intangible that both delivers and evokes emotion.
The icon/logo must represent something deep and sincere such as "thanks" and "recognition" without being trite or hackneyed.
Currently there is no image for the word "kudos". Our goal is to make this logo a household image for kudos, and the specific brand name we have for it ... kudoyou.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
While the concept could be value to anyone, we anticipate that friends, family, co-workers or known service providers. It could grow in demand via social networks of all types. A "kudoyou" really knows no specific age or demographic. It crosses all lines.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
We don't want to bias designers. We don't know what to compare a "kudoyou" to. This project gives the logo designer an open palette. Is a kudoyou a person, place or thing or an a more abstract but recognizable image that evokes an emotion -- such as esteem, accomplishment, purpose, high esteem and the like?
Here are some ideas to help:
Strong image but not cumbersome or heavy
We want a timeless image not a passing popular image of good or thanks.
Colorful -- emotive color or color associated with reward/excellence
Single color or multiple, the logo designer can decide
Words, letters, image, noun, verb image -- designer can decide
Not trite nor cliche
Respectful not patronizing
The kudoyou respects the receiver
We think it should be an uncomplicated image (but this is not a fixed request)
Evokes true pride not false pride
Honest and not arrogant
Truly esteem building -- not like Al Franken aka Stewart Smalley on Saturday Night Live
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We do not want an image of a trophy, gems, sparkles, medal or traditional images of "congratulations" or the like. No gold stars, suns, "happy face" type stuff nothing bubbly gummy.
