LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We (jordanlawrence.com) are a well-known consulting firm that practices in the field of records and information management.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
In July, we are launching a new software platform called GRIP - the "global records & information platform" which is under development for a near-term launch. It enables clients to tie together everything about their own records practices and is a very serious application that helps them get a handle on all the records and data they maintain whether the information is in paper, electronic, email or other formats. We help them reduce operating costs and serious legal and financial risks. This is serious, important stuff to mid- to large-sized organizations.
To start things off we want to develop a logo for the name GRIP, then follow with website page layout immediately afterwards.
The domain www.grip.com is not available, but we picked up jlgrip.com instead. We envision the logo to be a strong and serious mark, perhaps with the "jl" superscripted to he left side of the GRIP or in the manner of jl | GRIP or whatever else you can some up with for starting the discussion.
It cannot be cute or silly or whimsical. Our audience is serious, smart and professional. But, on the other hand, we don't want maroon, beige or purple either. We like solid primary colors like red, blue and even black and graytones.
The actual logo can include an icon and the name GRIP or be a strong font of just GRIP. We really have no firm direction on that, although an icon + name seems to be more unusual in our industry and is therefore more attractive to us (as a starting point, anyway).
Look forward to your ideas. Contact me with questions.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Our target audience is senior information technology and senior legal officers are large corporations. Law firm attorneys are also a big part of our equation.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
We like electricpulp.com type design, our own website, and the color red.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We love simplicity. We love red and black together (but not critical) because they are so simple and striking. We hate Adobe application effects like making an image and stretching, twisting and bending it and calling it a "design".
