LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Jay McCarroll is the season one winner of the Bravo TV series, Project Runway. Jay's online store (www.jaymccarroll.com) launched a year ago, and is about to undergo an transformation. The online store which currently only has a small selection of "Jay McCarroll" items is going to be transformed into a true online boutique, where Jay's expanded apparel line will be featured, but other select other brands, handpicked by Jay, will be included as well. The website is ready to be redesigned to support this transformation, but first we need a strong logo.
As a company, JayMcCarroll.com is all about trying to hold true to what we believe in, and not letting ourselves be controlled by a demanding industry. This is hard. We are also about connecting to our customers and causes we believe in. We are small. We try to be as transparent as possible. We want to grow organically, not by taking some one else's money and making a mad dash for the cash. We want to give our customers what they want. This new logo, new website, new brand, and expanded line is a step towards doing just that.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
A logo. A damned good one. Currently the online store is JayMcCarroll.com. As we shift to an truer online boutique, the name of the store will be changed to:
by Jay McCarroll
Just to be clear, the name of the new brand is "Handpicked, by Jay McCarroll". All of this will need to be included in the logo.
Here's what we DON'T need:
We dont need a wild crazy complex shiny logo, that is not who we are. We don't need a "runway" logo. We dont need high heels, hair picks, or hairspray.
Here's what we need:
We need a creative, open, inviting, clever, unique (but not overdone) logo. We are about sewing, design, art, expression, freedom, people. The logo will be used for the online store, it will be used in apparel tags, it may be used outside of a retail store someday.
