What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
Imagining Tomorrow - Delivering Possibilities Today
By the name, many people think Illinois Heartland Library System (IHLS) is a library. We actually provide services to over 500 libraries in Central and Southern Illinois. Our core services are resource sharing, delivery, training, and some consulting. We manage the automation software/database (online catalog) that allows you to request a book from a library across the state and then we deliver that book to your home library. We are a non-profit funded through grants from the State of Illinois. Our current logo was created in 2011 when several library systems merged to form IHLS and we think it is time to move away from it.
More information about IHLS can be found on our website: www.illinoisheartland.org on the About page. This page might be beneficial to get an idea of who we are and what we would like to portray in a logo. It has our Vision, Mission Statement, Values & Goals.
What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)
image + text
We want our logo to be: crisp, clean, professional w/o looking corporate, and creative. We would also like it to show movement and be scalable to large sizes (posters and building signs).
Things we do not want in our logo:
a gradient, the shape or a map of Illinois, books, hearts, a childish look
It would be nice if the logo image could stand alone and represent the brand without the need for the text, but if the text is tightly integrated with the logo that is great too.
Do you have any other info or links you want to share?
Our new logo will be used on: letterhead, business cards, our website, social media sites, building signs, delivery van signs, t-shirts, badges, training materials, and promotional items. Links with more information:
