What is your industry?

We are bloggers. Tagline for our business is: How To Get Your Career Mojo Back After 40. Target audience is men and women, college-educated people living in or nearby cities, with job history across a range of industries, middle or upper class, needing career direction and vitality, after hitting the age of 40 (and possibly older). Our blog's readers have lost their career direction, possibly lost their jobs, or are re-entering the work force after time away from the formal career ladder. They are drifting, not sailing, in their current position. Or they have been pulled from the water entirely. They tend to operate more out of fear than confidence, and they need practical, inspirational and timely advice how to navigate in todays job market. They may look at younger folks who have more contemporary internet skills or a better grasp of the changes in behavior related to changes in technology; they are also aware of the competition from outside their cocoon, i.e. overseas or other workers nearby willing to take lower pay. Their thinking is dragging, but with a boost of learning and a spark of training and a fun digital "pick-me-up", they can re-focus and get back on track to get that job, or that promotion, or that better work-life balance, with more genuine confidence and zest!

They feel overwhelmed by all the career information out there and that very little of it is understandable, practical, or actually fun to read. But here at this blog, readers can deal with the rapid technological change and the new ways of connect. Here audience can "get" all the things they need to know, and with encouragement and proven highly useful how-to's and strategies, readers will be delighted, then absorb and take directed, specific actions on a regular basis, succeed fantastically.

1. Inspiring - we're the spark you need to jump start your career
2. Practical - you'll get advice you can use instantly
3. Cool - this is a fun site to hang out in and you feel smarter, more confident, and project a better looking professional image when you leave it

Style and Concept

What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?

We like the Amazon dot com logo, for example, because the line goes from 'a' to 'z', just like amazon sells everything from A to Z. Logo style could be just text, or text and image. We like Conceptual Logos... there should be an "a-ha, I get it!" moment. for example, see http://logofaves.com/?r_sortby=highest_r... This ranks logos by viewer votes, so they may switch around on the pages, but as of NOW, we liked the following logos on the pages noted: on that home page (1), I like the ones for freedom, Chad illusion, Imaginary Friend, antartica; on page (2), I like pause
on page (3), I like pencil; on page (4), I like coffee, AIDS Taskforce 25 years; on page (5), Women meet literature, and 8 fish
on page (7), I like blue elephant media.

What colors do you want to see in your logo?

Color combos we do like:
Orange and Purple (and possibly gold)
Strong yellow, green, orange
Gold, Orange, Pink (not too girly - but more magical!)
Open to a range of solutions, including one color or several colors

What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?

No grays, not corporate navy blue. Avoid Black in the surrounding "air", since the blog will have a light background or white background.

Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?

Primarily the masthead of a Website, and then later on, business cards, giveaways.

Do you have other info or links you want to share?

The word mojo may not be so familiar to everyone. It has become common in our circles.... it is used by talk show hosts to refer to the unique creative energy of people who are doing something cool or trendy, something worth copying/imitating. It is also used in digital domain names to convey that this site is hip and new. You can see examples in Wikipedia.
