Who are you?
We are the DC Department of Human Resources (DCHR), Workforce Development Administration (WDA). We provide training, workforce planning and organizational development programs that increase the knowledge, skills and competencies of over 33,000 District government employees.
One of our most popular initiatives is the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP). The ELP is designed to attract, recruit, and retain undergraduate and graduate students for DC Government. The program, which consists of several subset programs, provides innovative ideas, best practices and recommendations on municipal programs from around the country to help the Mayor and his administration build Washington into a world class city. The ELP also serves as a succession planning program which is a valuable recruitment resource to the District.
What do you need?
In the ELP, there are four programs: the High School Intern Program (HSIP), the Centralized College Internship Program (CCIP), the Capital City Fellows (CCF) Program, and the Certified Public Manager (CPM) Program.
The HSIP, CCIP and CCF programs are designed to attract young (up & coming) professionals. We want them to consider the District government as a competitive employer.
That said, we need one logo design that can be interchangeable throughout all three programs. The logo should be hip, innovative and aesthetically pleasing. We want to use the logo to post on our re-designed website, Facebook and other social marketing platforms. Although we are a government agency, we want our look to be more contemporary.

Who Is Your Audience?
high school students, college students, graduate students, recent graduates of professional degree programs, job seekers with a Masters degree
We Like These Examples
We are completely open to new ideas
We Absolutely Must Have
We must have the name of the individual program included in the logo (i.e. High School Intern Program, etc.).
Remember, the District government is separate from Federal government so avoid using any depictions of Federal landmarks like the Monument or Capitol Building as they may be conveyed as US government versus local government.
