Tell us what you need
What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
Micromat or Micromat Inc or Micromat Incorporated
What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
Thanks for your interest in our project! Please read this entire text if you are interested in submitting a logo design. Lots of information here we hope you'll find useful.
Our goal with this logo is to bring Micromat's 3D "M" logo into the 21st century. While it was pretty cool in 1989, it's most definitely dated. Of course, the text part should also match the new look of the M. That being said, we're not opposed to looking at other ideas, but the brand has been built around the M logo and it would be great if customers saw this more as an evolutionary update than a revolutionary update. But we're open to anything better and invite artists to submit something entirely different. Here's some background:
Micromat is a 23 year old software company which develops computer repair and testing products for Macintosh. The flagship product is TechTool Pro. The target market is computer professionals like IT techs, repair techs and consultants, but the majority of the company's customers are conventional users who troubleshoot their own computers.
Keywords would be tools, technicians, repair and diagnostics.
Imagery might include hand tools and advanced testing equipment like oscilloscopes. Explore the Micromat website below to see some of the imagery we've used.
Do note that medical imagery is NOT where we wish to go. This has been overdone by similar companies over the years and the euphemism is quite worn. Please avoid stethoscopes, bandages, red crosses and other symbols that might be used in the medical field.
What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)
An evolution of Micromat's 3D "M" logo or a clever departure.
We need two versions of a given logo: a horizontal one and a vertical one (see examples).
