Business Info

Business Name

What do you do?

RowToday aims to educate and motivate aspiring rowers. We will sell educational audio/video materials that teach the fundamentals of rowing.

What is the exact name you would like in your logo?

RowToday (but we're open to logos that do not incorporate the name)

Target Audience

What is your industry?

Sports informational products

Describe the target audience for your logo

Our audience is 25-40, coed but slightly skewed male, college-educated, urban-dwelling, and physically active. He's seen the rowing machine at the gym and has heard that rowing is a great workout. Maybe he's seen boats on the water and wants to know the route from spectator to participant in what looks like an elegant but intense sport. Rowing intrigues him, and RowToday is his first point of contact with the sport.

What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

1. Rowing is fun.
2. Anybody can row.
3. Learning to row is easy and enjoyable.

Style and Concept

What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?

We like designs that are clean, dynamic, and playful without being cute. We'll consider designs that are image-only, text-only, or that combine the two. Incorporating an oar or boat graphic would be fine, but our focus is on universal aspects of the sport, like the posture of the human body engaged in rowing. Designs we're drawn to: Nickelodeon's logo for its color, even though the splat is too "loud" for us (http://www.theanimationblog.com/wp-conte...), this rowing logo for its fluid design, although we're not crazy about the tribal theme (http://media.photobucket.com/image/olymp...), and this rowing logo for its simplicity, although we'd prefer a little more detail (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co...)

What colors do you want to see in your logo?

We like bright colors (especially orange, but we're open to other ideas), possibly with more toned-down, focused accents (graphite, black, white).

What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?

Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?

We envision our logo becoming the visual anchor of the RowToday brand. We don't have a website yet but will design one around the look/feel/colors of the logo (naturally, the logo will appear on the website). We'll also use the logo on business cards, as an avatar on social networking sites, on stationary, stickers, and clothing.
