LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
I am a longtime strategic marketing consultant for small and growing businesses. My client for this project is a dentist who needs a logo for his practice that can be used both on the web and in print.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
A logo with a message:
The client is a cosmetic and restorative dentist who takes particular pride in two aspects of his practice: (a) his technical excellence (top equipment and techniques) and (b) his keen eye for aesthetic results. As part of a web update, his practice now needs a logo that fits well with the tag line we selected below.
We are open to concepts that especially emphasize (b), the artistry, but would love to also see entries that weave the both the creative and the technical skill together (example: think of the sense you get seeing the name of an architect's business in a paintbrush script layered over a blueprint). Help us give him a memorable visual "icon" he can use on the web or in print that will scale well from a business card to a print ad.
Here is the title and the tag line for the logo:
Howard Steinberg DMD
sees the artistry in every smile
Note there may be times we wish to remove the tag line, so the logo should look good both with and without the message. Logos that work well inverted (black to white) are also encouraged, but this aspect is optional. The winner will be also be asked for the font specs.
To prime the pump:
Here are some related concepts you can mix and match as you think of imagery that evokes special skill in aesthetic dentistry..architecture, art and artistry, discerning design, high tech, high focus, health and beauty, precision, aim, structural integrity, an extra dimension of excellence, good lighting, high accuracy meets high creativity
Also attached is a color swatch from the new web site in process. The new logo should play well with this color scheme, but the logo will be used in other settings as well.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
People who appreciate the extra quality that comes from a dentist who blends strong technical skill with strong aesthetics. Many of these people will be high-income, but not all. The desire for a pleasing healthy smile cuts across many demographics.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Great logos are not so common on dental sites, but here is a screen shot of one we saw online and liked both for its sophisticated creativity and its abstract suggestion of dental artistry:
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We want to encourage creativity at this stage. Think out of the box when you begin. We will give feedback as the process unfolds.
