LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We're a brand new jazz festival starting in Birmingham UK in 2010. Our festival aims to celebrate the local talent of our city with a focus on new, innovative music, ensembles and collaborations. We're forward thinking and creative organisation looking to expose our music to wider audiences. We want to be seen as something a bit different in the jazz community.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a logo which reflects our dynamic, creative approach to music-making. No cliches! We want something which will appeal to young people without alienating older audiences. Fresh, clean, strong and above all stylish. The logo will be used on our website and printed materials (with full credit given to the designer) so it has to be suitable for both purposes.
The logo should include the name, "Harmonic", as well as the dates "11th - 13th March 2010". We would ultimately need two versions, one with and one without the dates, so the logo must work as a stand-alone design.
We'd also like some graphics/illustrations to complement the logo which we can incorporate into the design of our website and printed materials. Whilst this isn't essential, if there's two designs we really like and one's got some bonus bits that just might swing it.
We don't have any particular colours or styles in mind yet so just go with your instinct.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Jazz lovers, music lovers people interested in creativity. We want people to get excited about our festival and see it as a beacon of creativity. The majority of jazz audiences are 50+ and male, however we want to attract new audiences too, particularly younger audiences (20s - 30s).
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Stylish and simplistic: http://www.flowfestival.com/fi/
Clean with artistic detail: http://www.chargebikes.com/products/bike... (the bike not the logo or website!!)
Colours: http://bit.ly/316h41 http://bit.ly/4rAcuD
All just ideas not necessarily exactly what we want.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
No musical instruments, notes or any other obvious musical cliches. No corporate stylings, we're an arts organisation! No images which have a strong association with Birmingham.
