LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
My brother and I are are acquiring a gymnastics facility which also runs a variety of other sports out of the warehouse.
Gymnastics forms the core foundation of the facility. We will have national and international competitive teams in gymnastics as well as cheerleading, dance, and circus.
Our endeavors will eventually lead us into more action sport related activities (skateboarding, bmx biking)
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need 2 vector (.eps) logos preferably backward compatible to Adobe CS2. One on a white and one on a black background.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
We are a young and progressive ownership group that grew up with XGames and ESPN. We want an edgy very grungy look. That attracts a younger "daredevil" type crowd.
That being said, however, our core customers will be recreational gymnastics and dance classes. Mom's bringing in their 1-12 year old daughters and sons. We cannot "scare" or offend this main demographic away.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Camp WOODWARD, is our favorite design and overall marketing image. Large bold font.
However, we're building a website which attempts to gel these three:
http://www.usa-gymnastics.org/
http://www.calsportscenter.com/home/inde...
*please note while we love CSC's website, we are not a fan of their logo too stylish which gets lost from afar
We are stealing the colors of our favorite sports team the San Jose Sharks. We'd like the logo to stay 2 color: Black and Teal. If you're going to use a 3rd color use orange.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
Please feel free to message me with clarification questions if this next part doesn't quiet make sense.
Our entire image is centered around the idea of flipping. We have t-shits being designed with anagrams that read one thing one ways and another when upside down. We want our logo to work both ways (right-side up and up-side down).
I'm a novice designer and drew up a concept that I've attached. We're actually pretty happy with what I did and are looking for a professionals take from it.
Our logo can read:
San Diego UNITED Sports Center
SD UNITED Sports Center
SD UNITED
I'm a fan of the idea of using SD UNITED and then somehow "attaching" the sports center on to it. In which case at a later time we may be able to substitute the sports center for other sub labels (aka, SD United Dance, SD United Demo Team, etc.)
We're not against imagery or some graphic, however, we feel that typography would be the best way to go. If you choose to design an image into it please keep in mind the "flipping" idea.
We want to stay away from classic gymnastics designs related around USA, Flags, Olympics, etc.
