LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
I run a management consulting firm in western Canada that specialized in Information Technology and Procurement.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
I need a logo that emphasizes the timeliness and beauty of the West (possibly the mountains - specifically Three Sisters in Canmore) with the modern flair that is embodied in technology. I think I would prefer the emphasis to be on the letters with a traditional look (as seen in the Canadian Standards Association Logo) or with the mountains as a focus (look up Three Sisters mountains in Canmore which could make up the W - also the Bow Valley Baptist church logo uses the mountains well) and I like the logo in the Tab for Google (different colors outlining the "g" in my Firefox tab when I'm on the Google site) and I like both the old and new AltaVista logos. As you can see I can go from psychedelic to traditional and am not sure what I will like the best and assume you guys probably have MUCH better ideas than I.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Middle to senior managers in the utility, mining, oil and gas industries.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
I like the Google logo that is on the browser tab (not the website); I like the old and new AltaVista logos (the new is a play on AV and the old is a mountain vista that can be found here http://archive.computerhistory.org/resou... I like the globe idea in the Canadian Standards Association, I like the mountain idea in the Bow Valley Baptist Church logo, I like the cute LG logo and I like the slightly tilted W with the up arrow in the CBSMarketwatch logo. I also browsed crowdSprings portfolios and liked CSE's http://www.crowdspring.com/portfolios/ol....
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
The letters GWC and possibly GWC Solutions (whichever looks better to you).
